The Answers You Need

Is there an age restriction?

You must be 21 to drink in CA and you need to have a valid ID to show at the distilleries and any other drinking establishment that we visit. Most distilleries will allow underage guests to take the tour but will not participate in the tastings. Tour prices remain the same. SdCocktails Tours requires that guests be over the age of 13 to travel with us.

What if I don’t drink but I still want to take the tour?

That’s no problem! The distilleries, their passion for craft, and the unique locations are entertaining and fascinating without ever taking a sip. Tour prices remain the same. Enjoy your distillery experience any way you want.

How do I dress for a tour?

Closed toe shoes are recommended and comfort is key. You will be touring working distilleries and barrel rooms. You will be indoors and outdoors. Keep in mind that the temperatures in the rick houses are the same as the climate outside so they will be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

What can I bring?

Snacks and water will be provided as part of the tour cost. If you are over 21, you may purchase alcohol at various stops during the tour.  You can bring your cigarettes and e-cigs but you can’t smoke in the van. You can bring a camera. Tour guides at the distilleries will let you know which parts of the tours are not allowed to be photographed.

What can’t I bring?

No firearms of any kind are allowed. No bad attitudes either.

What MUST I bring?

A valid ID showing you are 21 if you want to participate in the spirit tastings and cocktails.

How far in advance should I book?

The early bird catches the worm so don’t wait, secure your date. Tours sell out quickly in peak season.

What is your cancellation policy?

All reservations are to be paid for at the time of booking. Once trip reservations are confirmed, reservations can be refunded, transferred, or cancelled at least two days prior to the trip. No refunds for no shows.

Is it customary to tip the driver/guide?

Tips are always appreciated but never mandatory. If this is a corporate trip, we can add the tip to your overall charge prior to the trip.
